A 45-year-old man has had several episodes of “racing heart” over the course of the morning and a feeling like his heart was coming out of his chest.
These episodes have lasted several minutes at a time, and he has felt lightheaded during a few of them. On further questioning, he states he has had similar episodes in the past.
