Anterior Wall MI and Ventricular Ectopic Focus with Fusion Complexes

Interpretation

  • Sinus Tachycardia at rate 100 beats/min
  • Evolved Anterolateral MI indicated by:
    • ST elevation and QS waves in V1 to V5
    • Q waves and T wave inversion in lateral leads (I and aVL) in some QRS complexes
  • Accelerated ventricular focus that competes with the sinus node that results in different QRS morphology
    • QRS complexes 7 , 8 and 10 are Premature Ventricular Complexes (PVC)
    • QRS complexes marked with N are normal
    • The other are Fusion Complexes made by fusing the impulse from the sinus node with the impulse from the ventricular focus
